Enlightenment Media make first contribution to RNLI
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution accepted their first donation of £1366.50 from the sales of the 'Islands of Scotland' DVD in December. Accepting this significant contribution, Mrs Maren Caldwell the National Fundraising Manager for the RNLI said 'This is a fantastic sum raised from the profit of the sales of your Islands of Scotland DVD. As you know, we are funded by voluntary contributions and it is only through kind gifts such as yours that we are able to provide our volunteer lifeboat crews with the best boats, equipment and training that are needed to save lives at sea.'

John Muir Trust celebrate continued support
Enlightenment Media has handed over a further £600 to the John Muir Trust in December, bringing the total contribution from the sales of the 'Mountains of Scotland' DVD to over £2,500. Receiving this latest contribution, Allison Lock, Corporate Relationship Fundraiser for the Trust said 'The Trust are delighted with the relationship that has been built with Enlightenment Media. The support they have given us through donations from sales of the Mountains of Scotland DVD and related publicity has been fantastic and is helping to make people aware of the Trust's work to conserve wild land. Robin and I are so enthusiastic about how well the partnership works, that we are actively exploring new opportunities to work together and I am delighted to confirm that the Trust has just awarded Enlightenment Media Gold Corporate Membership in recognition of the excellent relationship that has been built.'

New 'Islands of Scotland' DVD reviewed by Melanie Reid of The Herald
Tall women also haunted Scottish Television's new Gaelic series celebrating the beauty of Scotland's islands, using aerial photography. Eigg , we learnt, means the island of tall women, so named after five sisters who lived there many centuries ago, all more than 6ft tall. If nothing else, these programmes would make you want to be a helicopter pilot, swooping and skimming in dreamlike sequences right up the West Coast. Eigg, Rum, Muck, Canna, Sanday, Skye. This was the Scotland of fantasy; the eagle's eye view: where the sun always shone, the deer were always stirring, the poetry always swelling. If it seemed a Scotland too removed from reality, it nevertheless mesmerised. The sense of detachment was added to by John Carmichael's Gaelic script, which was simultaneously lyrical and lost in translation, a bit like pibroch to the uneducated ear.
